Founded in 1997 by the Chamber's board of directors, the Oakland Political Action Committee (OakPAC) promotes commerce and industry, advances economic growth and enhances the quality of life in the city of Oakland by supporting candidates and issues at the local, regional and state levels that reflect the goals and objectives of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

OakPAC's objectives include (1) acting as a vital tool in promoting the goals of the business community, (2) supporting those candidates and issues that best address the needs of business and the community at large, and (3) increasing the business community's ability to influence those who will lead our city, county and state.

OakPAC is a separate legal entity from the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and is solely supported through voluntary contributions.
